Blog Party 2010!! What a great restart! (again)
So here I find myself once again aimlessly wandering back into this bloggy world to try for a third time. Let’s start again and see if I can keep at it only ‘cuz third times the charm right?? So as I’m meandering around a few of my favorite blogs and begin to see a reoccurring post from yesterday. Now I’ve been wondering where I can find some tips, or tricks, advice or what have you on how it is these blogger ladies (and men) find something to write about everyday. How is it that by chance, or miracle rather, I come across……
I mean what are the chances!! Now I get to see/meet hundreds, probably over a thousand bloggers all in one place. Has to be a miracle right? So come on over join the party click the banner above, or in the side bar, don’t be shy!! There are some awesome prizes to be won too!!
Now to the PPPAAAARRRTTTTAAAAYYYY!!!
Watch your step as you come in the dogs will surely trip you or at least maul you with kisses.
Now that you have been officially welcomed to our home, dog slobber and all. My name is Sammi. I’m a small town northern country gal, living in the same Nowhere Ville town I grew up in. I was married on 07/07/07 to a wonderful man on the beautiful sunset shore of Torch Lake. Which is the Somewhere Ville he is from. (It’s only somewhere instead of nowhere because of that tourist trap lake) Now how I convinced him to move to Nowhere Ville with me I may never know. Now I love my hubby but the best part of gaining a best friend in him, was that the hubby came a packaged deal. Not only did I get him but also two for one special, of twin girls.
I introduce you to the one and only Toughie in pink, and miss QueenB in blue. Now they have adapted to country life the best as you can see they don’t go anywhere, not even egg hunting, without their S**t kicker, I mean rain boots on.
Plus with their daddy being a Fire/EMS addict I think its already rubbing off. I’m not sure who jumps more when the pager goes off daddy or them.
Which now is even worse only because the hubby convinced me to take an EMT class with him. Now in the beginning when he drug me to class kicking and screaming convinced me to take the class with him, I was rather hesitant. However now its only one more test to go and it will be a fight and a race for the first to be out that front door. Plus he knows that I don’t think twice about fighting dirty racing him out the door.
For the most part I am a caffeine, chocolate, crafting, social site addict. However we do love to be outside too, when its not 40 below!! For example just the other day at my sisters house who by the way claims, on most occasions, the other three kids in the previous fire gang picture, we had a great time teaching her hubby a lesson.
Don’t bring home pieces to hunting blinds to only sit in the yard. We will build/put them back together only for the kids to use as a fort of course. (notice the boots again) We aren’t afraid to get dirty, filthy, down right grungy for the sake of a good day of fun.
Now when I’m not curbing an addiction, or chasing kids, I also have my own business I work from home called Motivated Mom’s.
I love the fact I pick my own schedule, that I completely run my business from home, and have the pleasure of talking to mom’s from all across the USA and Canada. Such a dream job that has been a heaven sent to become my reality, and I’m loving every minute of it.
Now as I said in the beginning I’m trying to get my blog going. I’m working on a fan page on Facebook as well as a separate Twitter account for the blog. I’m hoping to get everything semi straightened out and in order soon. I’d love for you to follow and fan them both, as well as grab my button and show some LOVE!! I’ll definitely return the favor!!
****Now as for the prizes, there are a ton to choose from at the UBP so here are my top three...
** Of course the Grand Prize, who wouldn't want it!! A Toshiba Satellite. **
Then next is the Be My Guest Certificate ($250 value) for a 2 night stay for a family of 4 at any Hilton Garden Inn Courtesy of Bloggin2Noggin.
Then third Id love LOVE a Customn Blog Design for my blog!! To awesome it's provided by StartRankingNow.
Now if by chance those three are taken I would like any of the following in order... US-11, US-95, US-105, USC-13, INTL-14, INTL-11, US-98, USC-35, USC-39.
However if all those are taken I'll gladly have any other blog, giftcard, or girly kid stuff as I have the twin 4 year old girls. Hope you all come visit and party with us too.****
Look forward to meeting you all soon!!! Party on!!!

Kid’s amaze me!! Do your kids know who to call?
I find it so awesome what kids can learn these days. Especially when they are so young. Being in the healthcare field myself, growing up in a family who was, and now that my hubby and I are both active in EMS it has always been teach the kids 911. We have been teaching it to the girls since they were probably three. They love going to the station and seeing the ambulances and fire trucks. So why not teach them why its important to call 911 when someone needs help.
So when you ask my girls what number do you call when someone needs help. They will reply 911. Ask them who comes when you call 911. They will reply fire, ambulance, and the cops. They know all of this and they are only 4. How awesome is that?
So the other day on the news i see this story about a 7 year old boy declared a hero when he not only grabs his sister and locks him and her in the bathroom but calls 911. His parents were being held at gunpoint in their own home. He says his mom taught him everyday what to do. Good for them!!
Here’s the story. If you want to check it out.
Then again a while back a three year old, yes only three, saves his grandma when she was sick by calling 911. He even locked their dog in the back bedroom so it wouldn’t get out, and let the police and paramedics in when they got there.
Or how about this bilingual 11 year old who translated for rescuers in a bus crash where most of the injured only spoke Spanish. They said he stayed calm through the whole thing.
I’m more than excited that for well over a year when you ask the girls what they want to be the story hasn’t changed.
Toughie wants to be a firefighter, just like daddy, which doesn’t surprise me one bit. She’s always been rough and tough and daddy’s little girl.
On the other hand Queen B wants to be a cop. In a way not to surprising either since she is such a hellion troublemaker stickler for breaking the rules. Not a day goes by that she isn’t getting corrected for something. She may be the queen but certainly no princess.
They even have rain jackets already for their future professions. Which once it’s warm enough there will be pictures of those later, I’ll make sure of it. All in all I am more than happy about what they have chosen to do and especially if they stick with it. Takes real heart to become a cop, firefighter, EMS personnel, even service members. Who else do you know that willingly puts their lives in danger or on hold to help others when they need it. I certainly know first hand what it’s like being a wife of one, and now becoming one myself. Now if they choose other professions I wouldn’t love or support them any less. Then again they are only 4 so time will tell.

Can’t believe class is almost over.
Since November I’ve been taking an EMT class as previously noted in an earlier post. Only 7 more sessions!! YAY!!
As more time has gone on I’ve come to the conclusion that it hasn’t really been that bad. Of course I’m still crying and ragging on the hubby “Why oh why did you convince me TO DO THIS!!” Only because of course he doesn’t need to know I’m actually becoming an adrenaline junky just like him.
That pager goes off, the heart jumps, ears open, I’m running, “Race ya to the car!”. All I have to say is thank heavens for zip up boots. Plus even though I wish we had a garage, I don't think the hubby or I for that matter could wait for the door to be up before pulling out. That probably would be rather costly in the long run.
What I’m not liking is trying to cram in homework that I’m waaayyyy behind on, and clinical time which takes away 5 more 8 hour chunks of my days. Only 4 more to go for me before March 17th.
The sad part of class ending is the new friends. We already knew one in our class before we started, but I have to say I’ve grown rather fond of the other 5 too. Although on most days I could think other wise on one. (You know who ya are Dr. T LOL) This love hate thing we have had in class is rather exhausting. However it makes the 4 hours a night twice a week plus one 8 hour Saturday a month fly right by when your having a good time.
Plus even though it’s winter I’m probably going to miss that 45 minute drive to and again from class with only the hubby and I in the car. Yes I said it! It’s kind of nice having us time even if it’s only a car ride.
The fun part will be after we are done, have passed our national test, gotten our license’s, we will have a new thing to fight about. A race to the door for who gets to go when the pager goes off and who gets to stay home with the girls. Guess I better start working on a path of nothing breakable by the door.
Well instead of sitting here writing so much more I should probably do homework before class. That would be a novel idea. Now if only I knew where I put my books.
Let’s try this again….
So here I am again.
I’m gonna try this blogging thing one more time. I love to read everyone else’s yet wonder day to day why I can’t ever find something to write. Wait, stop, back up, let me rephrase that. I write almost everyday in a journal, more therapeutic than anything else. However most of the time those things really shouldn’t be aired to the public. People would scream, arrests could be made, Government would cease to exist, countries would fall, ok maybe not that bad but still. Maybe someday I’ll make an anonymous blog and air it that way. That would require though I get the hang of this one.
I’m really trying to get organized, focused, back on track. The last few months have been pretty rough. Life around here has gotten so out of controlled chaos. I personally have never ever been an organized person, yet have tried several times to create order in this life house of mine and have failed miserably. I’m almost done with class, and what a whirlwind of an adventure that has been. I still kick the hubby in the a** butt for convincing me to take it with him. No regrets, although I keep waving my magic wand for my homework to do itself. Hasn’t worked yet but I can hope.
Technology has really bit us in the royal behind in February so I’m really glad that month is finally over. My computer crashed, then my modem bit the dust once the computer was fixed. I tell you internet withdrawals are not much fun. Then for what reason possessed my hubby to touch my phone still eludes me but of course follow suit he drops it and it breaks. Thank heavens for him, after a complete melt down and chewing of that old rear of his, the phone was still under warranty and was replaced for nothing. WHEW. So then to top the month off and go out with a BANG literally. Our pilot in our furnace decided to blow up! Yes I said blow up! So thankful however it was just the pilot and not the whole furnace but waking up to a house at 50 degrees was not a great way to start a day. Especially when I feel this is the coldest winter we have had that I can remember. So my lovely hubby got to leave to go to work and I had to sit here bundled in ten layers of clothes for hours waiting for the repair guy. By the time he got here at 11 am it was close to 40 in the house. Then after a chunk of money handed to him, new part put in, him reassuring me that it didn’t affect any other part of the furnace, I got my heat back. Well finally 4 hours later the house was at least back up to the 60’s and I was back down to two layers or so.
I’m more than happy to say good bye to February may you take all your technology woes with you. As for you March, may you come in like a lion so we can get to the lamb quicker. I’m so tired of winter!!
Glad to be back and hope to keep a semi routine.

My Sis, what was she thinking!
Then next was her math. They call it beginning algebra. YEAH RIGHT!! I haven’t done that algebra since I was in 8th grade what was she thinking that I could help. So last night we sit down to try and figure it all out. At least she can take the quiz up to three times. The first time she failed, we will see how this go around comes out. So here we sit to grown woman being stumped speechless with just one problem and we have twenty-seven more to go. Going to be a long evening. We racked our brains, wrote out problems till our hands hurt, and eventually resulted to an “educated” guess on a few if that’s what you could call our answers. We submitted the quiz and well, not what she wanted but almost double what she got the first time.
So she then decides to inform me she has a twenty question exam that has to be done by midnight tonight. Plus if she wants to take the quiz over one more time then it has to be tonight too. So I bring home her book to look over and see if I can figure out how to do the problems we missed. I’m sitting here this morning dreading the fact I agreed to come back and help her through it all over again. The plus side I think I figured out what we were doing wrong.
Now I’m definitely sure that when it comes time I need to practice things from my class on someone, she will definitely be the victim. : ) I plan on duct taping her to the back board and everything! HA HA HA Oh the paybacks are going to be endless I’m already sure and we haven’t even started today.
Good thing I decided to write now too, instead of when I returned home with a brain of goo and a slight twitch. *twitch* “Come on girls lets get going.” *twitch* Oh no it’s starting already. *sigh* Oh well the things we do for family.

The chaotic flood gates have opened!
Yes homework the very first night... and I wanted to do this why?? Suddenly high school flashbacks are zooming through my head. Not like I don’t have enough spinning around in there already. *sigh*
Ohhhh ‘cuz I love my hubby!! That’s right. Three years of begging , wait no, he says he never did. With the hubby’s constant persistence, the adventure has begun.
So two chapters to read from this book, so big and so heavy QueenB and Toughie earlier tonight couldn’t even lift it off the table together.
Really was quite a humorous sight. I sat there giggling to myself as they struggled and grunted because its flopping and twisting on them, why it’s not hardcover who knows, it’s heavy enough why not a little more right? Anyway so all in all it results with the book on the floor, just missing the little toes, and the girls looking at me only to bust out laughing so hard I though Toughie was going to fall over. So I pick up the book to move to the other table so they can then sit to do their puzzles at that one. For some reason just because their chairs are there it’s there table or something. Who knew…
So back to present time. Maybe them high school flashbacks were for a good reason. My study habits are, well shall we say rusty. For example:
- Turn off the TV, oh but NCIS is on….
- Don’t sit by the computer, darn Facebook addiction….
- Turn off the phone, but I have to Tweet, Text, RING!! Answer it! When someone so intent on talking to me has called three times in a row, I tried to ignore, the phone that is not the caller, I think that means it‘s important. Don‘t you?….. It really wasn’t.
Wow so much we forget in such a short time, well would 8 yrs be considered a short time, kind of a long time for me I think. Or would that be feel….Oh well. So now I find myself yet again back to the computer but have pulled myself from the glorious Facebook only to revert to my blog. Plus chatting on IM mind you. (Think I got a friend addicted as well OOOPS, to blogging that is or well she will be here shortly *snickering* )
Now the clock is almost at 11. Homework is not done not even close. Dryer stopped hours ago, “hey folding fairy…where did you go?!?!” My bed is calling my name, has been for days.
With tears in my eyes I shall bid you ado, to Facebook, to Twitter, to Computer, and all means of technology and or communication outlets to the outside :) Goodnight!!!!

New Adventures!!
So over the last week and still continuing this week we have definitely had and are having our own set of new adventures.
Last week the school went on the splendid H1N1 vacation. So now my whole daily routine has been thrown back into the chaotic days of summer but undoubtedly without the warm weather. Shall we say cabin fever! Add that all on top of the sugar injections, which results in overdoses, then the coma that ensues afterwards from this weekend, and we now have had a great Meltdown Monday!! Which oh so thanks to that pager started at 5:45 am this morning. :)
QueenB newest adventure was getting glasses last Thursday - (Toughie goes back tomorrow to see if she does too) So now who‘s bright idea was it to put glasses on a four year old. Oh I’m not raising my hand to claim that one. The fun has only just begun but the last four and a half days have been so much fun.
One she won’t leave them alone. They are the new toy, not only for her but sissy too. How many times can you say don’t touch and leave them alone before it actually gets heard?
Two she thinks it’s the coolest thing ever. *sigh* I’m sure that will change. Oh and Toughie can’t wait till she goes back tomorrow to get hers too. Oh I’m sure the meltdowns will continue to Tuesday if she doesn’t get glasses too. That’s the hardest thing with twins, you can’t just have one of something no matter what it is.
Three add another item to the list of daily things to clean, and because of number one its often more than once a day. I mean how is she supposed to see better when they are filthy. Hmmm don’t remember having to keep washing the eyeballs….
Four how many times must we have the conversation,
“Time for bed your glasses need to go in the case.”
“But I need to see to sleep”
“Your eyes are closed when you sleep you don’t need them to see”
What does she have some great works of art on the back of those eyelids I wasn’t aware of. Course the glasses still won’t help to see that, well if they were or are there. Again kids say the darndest things sometimes.
So the last but not least has to be my latest adventure. It only took my hubby about three years to convince me but I have finally enrolled and start my EMT class tonight. Just another chunk of time to add to my already chaotic schedule on top of finding a sitter as well two to three times a week. So now I get to leave Toughie & QueenB in the hands of my hubby’s good friend. Yeah he is good with kids but can he handle the climax and grand finale of a Meltdown Monday?? Course tonight will probably be like signing that dotted line on the phrase he uttered to me the other day, “ after spending a day in your life, I’m really thinking about getting snipped.” Guess we will find out the verdict tonight when we get home from class. :)
